The Academy of Allied Health Sciences’ Conversational ESL Program is a thirteen (13) week course intended to help students to develop their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English. In this course classes are offered at four levels: Beginning ESL Literacy, Beginning ESL (b) Low Intermediate ESL (c) High Intermediate ESL, (d) Low Advanced ESL, and High Advanced ESL, and will cover basic English sentence structure and grammar, conversational and writing skills, as well as speech and vocabulary building skills. Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate of completion and will be eligible to take any of the National Certifying Examinations such as the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). This program has two important aspects for the prospective candidate. The first is for the passing of any of the National ESL exams such as TOEFL which every candidate should attempt at the end of the program. The second is for job opportunities and prospects for the successful candidate such as working as translators for bilingual candidates and many others. Upon entrance to our program we use the US Department of Education Educational Functioning Level Descriptors ESL Language Approved Level indicators in order to assess and identify prospective customers’ English Comprehension levels. The basic entry level admission requirement for our program is that the client have either a US high school diploma / GED or have taken the TABE test with a minimal score of 486 or a score between 58 and 64 on the Best Literacy Test.
