The Professional Computer Training focuses on the five major areas of the MS Office Package and will enhance the proficiency level which can only benefit you in whatever career you decide to take. Soft Skills Training will help you work in stressful situations, learn how to communicate and work with others, and overall increase your ability to do your job. Working with others effectively is a skill you can master and will begin learning in any of our programs.
The programs below can be taken independently or combined with any other program:
Certified Billing & Coding Specialist
This course thoroughly prepares students to code patients’ medical records correctly. Topics: current procedural terminology, international classification of diseases, clinical modification, healthcare procedure coding system, resource-based relative value scale, insurance form preparation, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Workers’ Compensation, No Fault, HMO’s, diagnosis-related groups, peer review organizations, and ambulatory patient groups.
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
A qualified medical assistant is capable of performing a wide range of duties, with a variety of technical detail; thus helping the physician in many clinical situations. The course includes Clinical, Administrative and Lab Components with an Externship. Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate of completion and will be eligible for National Certification through the National Health career Association (NHA).
Certified EKG Technician (CET)
This is a basic course in Electrocardiographic (ECG) Preparation, Analysis and Interpretation. This course includes basic skills in patient preparation, lead placements, operation and standardization of the Burdick Models #EK/5 and #EK/5A EKG Machines.
Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
This is a basic course in Phlebotomy Practice, Protocols with Basic and Advanced Venipuncture Techniques as well as basic Troubleshooting Methodology. This course includes basic skills in patient preparation, adult and pediatric methods, vacutainer single and multi-draw techniques, butterfly and IV methods, phlebotomy practice in special centers, techniques in collection protocols and quality control.
Electronic Health Records (EHR)
This course will introduce the students to the use of health information and the electronic health record for any setting within the health care industry from acute, ambulatory, long term, home health, specialty, population health, and personal health that encompass the continuum of care. This course will provide students with a practical understanding of what an electronic health record specialist is and how important they are in the job market today.
